Bob was a member of the Technical Advisory Board for De Anza College, the founder and first President of the Happy Camp Fire Safe Council, the President of the Happy Camp Chamber of Commerce, and he served as a founding member of the Siskiyou County Fire Safe Council. Bob, along with his wife Vickie, worked as Co-Chairman of an ad hoc committee to write the bill that got Public Law 94-142, Education of All Handicapped Children Act passed into law in 1975, and to this day remains very active in working with "special people" through out his community.
