JEAN AND DAN POTTER - Survival Story of 9/11 -
In a desperate effort to escape the collapse of the North Tower of the World Trade Center, Jean and her co-workers knew that there was no other option to survive. At this moment, Jean's story of survival began, and her husband's, too. Serving as a New York City firefighter, Jean's husband, Dan, was a first responder to the scene. Anguished by the fate of his wife, but with a duty to serve his city, Dan was determined to fight for not only his life, but all those that he could during the 9/11 attacks. Against all odds, Jean and Dan survived and now live to share their incredible story of survival both during and after the terrorist attacks. Helped told by Rob Kaplan, By the Grace of God is Jean's story about the traumatic events of that day and the extraordinary effect it had on both of their lives-having to cope with the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder; moving because they could no longer live in a home haunted by three thousand ghosts; giving up their jobs and leaving the city they had grown to love. - www.authorhouse.com

SEGMENT 4: 01 am - 02 am Eastern / 10 pm - 11 pm PacificDR DAWN A MARCUS - The Power of Wagging Tails - Dawn A. Marcus, MD is a board-certified neurologist and professor at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. While spending two decades managing patients with chronic pain complaints, she soon learned that treatments required more than simply improving the physical status of damaged joints, muscles, and nerves. These patients really required a holistic approach - treating their diet, sleep patterns, exercise habits, mood, and social concerns. Substantial improvements generally occurred only after patients had received necessary attention to their physical, psychological, social, and family problems. Lessons learned through years of successfully treating patients with chronic patients have been condensed into practical, easy-to-read resources for both doctors and patients. Dr. Marcus is a nationally and internationally recognized speaker and educator of doctors, nurses, and lay people. She has published over 100 articles in medical journals and is the author of nine medical books, including 10 Simple Solutions to Migraine, Headache and Chronic Pain Syndromes: The Case-Based Guide to Targeted Assessment and Treatment, and Headache Simplified. Two new books on migraine in women and fibromyalgia will be published next year. She has been the lead investigator for numerous research studies, including studies investigating the benefits of exercise, relaxation therapy, and biofeedback in adults and children. You can find a number of educational materials she has designed for patients on her website: www.dawnmarcusmd.com.
